Kelsi turned 4 today! We are leaving on a trip this afternoon so we had her party Monday. The girls took around invitations that morning and I put on there not to worry about presents. I wanted to put "no presents" but the girls talked me into "don't worry about presents." They didn't want to make any kids feel bad. It was so fun and she was so excited all day. Emma, an older girl in our neighborhood, brought out her markers and paints and several kids decorated rocks, made cards or paper jewelry for Kelsi. It was so sweet. She received several homemade gifts and we LOVED them! They were perfect. Thanks for everyone's thoughtfulness.
That afternoon I put Devin to bed and the girls and I started on her cake. It was WAY easier than other cakes because the bottom layer was leftover from Britt's open house that weekend, and the cream cheese frosting was also from her. A week before, one afternoon the girls made all of the fondant flowers while I made the fondant Kelsi figure. It was so fun to be working on them together and the girls did a GREAT job on the flowers. I only showed Kelsi how to punch them out and to put on a LITTLE center, and Jes came up with the rose flowers on her own. They actually had more longevity than I did.
So anyway, I frosted the cake, then Jes chose where to put the My Little Ponies and then she and Kelsi put all of the flowers on. It was so fun to do it together. She loved her cake!
Happy Birthday Kelsi!!!
